Garden Work Party
We’re inviting everyone who wants to participate in gardening, learn about horticulture, or support our mutual aid ecosystem to join us at the garden every Saturday at noon. We begin with a brief check-in on priority tasks for the day and a grounding exercise together, then get our hands dirty.
The garden is open to everyone to hang out in at any time, but we ask that folks join at least one of these Saturday work parties to get oriented before working on the garden independently.
Bring work clothes, your own gardening tools if you have ‘em, and whatever you might want to share.

Liberation Library Book Club
A reading group intended for activists, organizers, and community members who wish to deepen our knowledge and connections with world-wide struggles for freedom and justice, and to allow this study to inform and fuel our practices.
The focus is on radical, de-colonial, and abolitionist struggles and world building, both historical and present day. Low barrier to entry - completion of texts prior to meeting encouraged but not required. Reading aloud of sections will be conducted during meetings. Open to book recommendations after the first set of five texts.

Drop Spindle Spinning Class
Learn the art of (literally) spinning a yarn, using a simple tool called a drop spindle. With practice, this simple technique will allow you to collect natural fibers and create your own yarn and have more connection to the material behind fiber arts.
Sunday, September 27th. 5-7:30pm, $10 for class; bring your own spindle or $6 for a spindle to take home.
Limited 9 spindles available. Email us at info@manyworld.diy by 9/20 to reserve a spindle. Remaining spindles will be first come first serve, or you can bring your own spindle that you borrowed from your folk school friend.

UPDATE: After consultation from local disability justice advocates, we have decided to require masks both indoors and in the tabling area in the parking lot. Even though tabling is happening outdoors, when the space is crowded we feel it is our responsibility to model mask requirements in large outdoor gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID and other airborne diseases. We will provide KN95 masks and informational zines at the entrances to the parking lot and in the building. We apologize for the very short notice change. Please reach out to us if this is an issue for you, and we can share some more resources about communicable disease.
Offers and Needs Market
Join us for a facilitated mutual aid exchange! We’ll form a circle and take turns offering what we have and asking for what we need, including objects, skills, labor, and knowledge. Participants can trade contact info at the end of the event to coordinate giving.
In preparation for the event, think ahead on a list of things you have to offer and things you could use help with. Coming up with things you need can be difficult on the spot!
