kèl h. Gallery Show Closing Reception
From the artist:
“my name is kèl, i just moved to the valley last may! i moved here from boise, idaho, where i was born and where i spent most of my life! i came here with my wife, to be a care taker for her mother &help sell their house!
i have been creating, to some capacity, since before i could remember. i experimented with many different mediums and materials and styles until about the age of 17, which feels like when i can solidly identify the creation of what i’d call ‘my’ style; which comes out in different ways in each medium. currently, i mostly work with pen/alcohol markers, but also love painting (acrylic, oil, sometimes gouache)—and many times my paintings turn into multi-media projects!— i crochet &sew/mend (a bit), as well as slowly teaching myself digital art! historically i’ve also dabbled in both digital & film photography, but sadly have a real lack of access to supplies and equipment right now.
this gallery showcases nearly my entire art journey, with art from age 13/14 to pieces i finished just weeks ago. i feel it encapsulates… my soul. I’ve been calling many of the pieces ‘deep cuts’, because it’d say about 75% of it has not left my personal portfolio, publicly. it’s crazy & chaotic. it’s confusing & emotional. & pretty.
i hope you not only enjoy the gallery, but perhaps, feel something, too. <3”
